Just curious about the general consensus. Are you find that more and more people out there warming to the idea of having cell towers put up nearby? Or are you seeing a lot of resistance?

I think the next wave of technology will have to be "Invisible Towers" that you can't see or maybe towers molded to look like trees or something like that. I think some people feel like they're supposed to get mad so they do without thinking about the logic.
I don’t think that most people will have resistance if there are construction of tower nearby since it will be for the good of the service that these wireless products are providing.
I think that a lot of people still have the "not in my backyard" mentality. Wireless technology is great, but I don't want to have to see the towers. Things like that :)
It's kind of a toss up, I have seen many communities begging for new service, but they would like it without a tower. Collocations have made things better, that is if the tower owners are really willing to allow other on their towers. There are a few tower owners (a couple of carriers in particular) that make it a nightmare to collocate.

I think it's going to change because the people who are giving the push backs will soon learn that if they want their phone to work, their internet and texting, that some sort of contraption will need to hold antennas.
I think some people are taking things for granted and don't realize on the things we do use and need in this world. Just think how life without ALL the technology and devices we use in our homes, work, and cars. The way of thinking would be different. I realized on how much we depend on technology. Its just not life without internet, cell phones, and television. So weird to think.....![]()
Good question, we recently had a call tower constructed in the field next to my apt complex. The tower goes unnoticed most of the time because it blends in with the other "towers" around and because it's off the street in a field. The complaints continue along with the fear of the electrical lines and the cancer clusters around the transformers. I believe though, as the electrical lines move below ground and the above transformers disappear, the complaints will stop. It's slow going in my area though, and many old timers are slow to change. Still, progress is being made, we no longer have party lines on our rural telephone lines and cell phones are replacing coin operated pay phones.
I remember a time when growing up we didn't have the wonderful technological toys we have today. We didn't have computers, cell phones or even microwaves. After 1985, I started seeing more and more businesses using computers (crudely built work horses) and then slowly but surely them being available for the every day Joe and Jane Q. Public. Cell phones coming much later. Just think, our Great, Great, Grandparents didn't even have electricity; I cannot wrap my mind around that concept. I cannot even get through one power outage without scouring stores for candles and flashlights, I cannot imagine that was once the way things were.
