In God we trust? Which God?

Hello my fine tethered friends!!
It's me again - V///!!!! In my many travels I have always tried to stay away from the religious and political conversations, mainly because I'm drinking when these conversations come up and they either turn sour or encompass the entire evening, but also out of respect. Being a Christian, I just think that God should stay out of the drinking conversations.
Well.....as luck would have it, I have not been having that kind of luck because I have recently been enticed to make friends with my very FIRST Muslim. I know, I know, "How dare I?" I am a devout Christian and American, but I also am a devout intellictual who hungers for the other side of things. This is one thing, the Muslim religion that is, that has plagued my senses for a long time. I have actually read the Quran a couple times in trying to understand it, but have never really paid attention to most of it. I was always busy think how it sounded so much like the Bible, just with a different guy as the main character. It is very interesting to see where the nuances in life have sent us down 2 very different paths in history. Some may claim that we persecuted them and other that they are just a bunch of Heathens that need to be domesticated. How do we know we are right?
Seriously, how do we know? I have been encountering more and more and more, especially in my own industry and life travels, Non-Christians. There are more agnostic (I will not capitalize these words) and atheists in my last year than in my entire life. There is an extreme amount of people coming in to the US, to stay, that are Non-Christians. My 2 very best friends in the whole world are agnostic, ad I love them dearly.
Personally, I don't understand how this works. I can't see how or why there are so many different religions. In my very narrow, Southern and conservative view, I just think everyone should be Christian and we should all go to church on Sunday and then to the truck stop for a late breakfast and finally end up at the park to play on the swings with dad and Mom walking around still holding hands and laughing at things that we have no idea of because it’s their “Me” time. I think that we should all go to a sort of religious Bible study/Christian educational group on Wednesday nights during the school year in which women dressed in traditional garb swap the shit out of you when you don’t listen or are caught trying to pass little Lisa a note asking her to go out with you when in fact you don’t have a car, a job and much less, ANY MONEY!! But, you still want her to go out with you. I believe in a world that a man goes out with a woman and if he doesn’t, then he knows it’s not a socially accepted thing and keeps it TO HIS FUCKING SELF!!! I believe that God created everything and that the 7 days in which He did it were NOT 24 hrs long. I think that people should say whatever they want, as long as you don’t surse Baby Jesus. I think Christmas should be a joyful birthday celebration for God, not humans and that ALL families should be allowed enough time off of work to get together and spend enough time in one house to bring the soul of that family back into one rhythm that is a coalition of mind and spirit when they return back to work.
I don’t understand why we do what we do, but……..as an American at heart, I have to put aside my personal beliefs and accept what is true. I accept the 2 guys in front of me holding hands and when they kiss, I turn my face and make sure I point out something in a different of interest to my son without him noticing what is going on around him. In the case he does see, I can then explain to him what it is in a way that is informative, but yet skewed enough to allow him to make his own choice but on the side that I think is right. If he is gay when he grows up, then I’ll love him just as much, I don’t have to agree with the whole gay movement in order to be cool with it. I have gay friends that I call “Princess” and “Butch” that know exactly where I stand but also know that if they’re in trouble they could call me and I would help then with an open heart. They’re people and they deserve my respect as people.
I accept that there are hundreds of different points of view when it comes to religion. I accept that people are racists against me simply for my color even though I am far more educated and can speak not only their language better than they can, but 2 others as well. I accept the fact that some Americans think that the “face” of America is a white guy or girl even though my parents renounced their home country and became full blown American Citizens and that this country was built on immigration and foreign capitol. I accept that when they say,” you’re taking our jobs” that they don’t mean me. They mean the face of “America”. I accept the fact that sometimes I’ll be pulled by a cop and be made to kneel 3 hrs in a 3 piece suit driving an Audi just because he doesn’t think that my accent matches my name. This is my country and as much as I disagree with some of the little things, I have to accept them because it’s the big picture that’s important.
What I can’t accept is that our fear of Islamaphobia is making us skew our Constitutional view to a place where we ONLY accept certain religions and not all. Either we close our borders to any and all immigration and religions and bring every home and let all of the countries that we support be responsible for their own shit, OR, we shut the hell up and be REAL AMERICANS. Grow some balls and back the constitution instead of our personal beliefs. There is a prepaid plan out there that is called Americanization that we all need to subscribe to if you’re in this country, and it’s not about color, money or religion. It’s about America! It’s not a quad band service that you can use in all countries. It comes with unlimited minutes, but it also comes with a major contract that needs to be followed to the Constitutional letter.
As a Christian and former 9-11 attendee, I cannot imagine a worse place in the world to put a mosque. As an American who believes in his constitution and cherishes his right to vote, I can’t imagine a worse place not to.
