It's funny how we go about our daily routine and get so MAAAAD whenever we have to make a right turn and can't beccause of ":grid lock"! Well my fine tethered friends, read below and pray to god that we're not in China!!!
This is an excerpt from a post I found on the web
"Closing off parts of the thruway ground everything down to a snail's pace. Some sections reported speeds of no more than a third of a mile a day, if at all." WorldBlog
It detailed how the Chinese had a 10+ day long traffic jam. I don't know about you, but WTH!!! 10 DAYS!!! Having 4 BILLION screaming Chinese people to call, don't you think some of them could have called a relative and gotten a ride home? I understand the truckers having to stay, but GEEZ!!! I'm SURE I'm simplifying the case, but I just think it's hilarious. Imagine yourself stuck for 10 days,....ON A ROAD....with a bunch of PEOPLE!!! AHHH!!! The mere thought makes me want to flip the driver next to me off! :)
While I always make sure I stay close to the office I'm assigned, I did have a minor traffic experienc on the way to NJ. I left DC around 4 PM one fine Sunday afternoon with the xpectation of traveling my 186 miles in about 3.5-4 hrs. I had a coke in hand and my MP3s on my phone. NOT my I-phone, my REGULAR phone. I can't STAND I-phones. They're a cult, but that's another post.
Anyway - after the first 30-40 miles at around 85 mph, we came to SCREEEEEACHING halt and there I was. For the next 8 HOURS, I crept and sputtered from South of Philly to NJ. Yes, it took me 8 hrs to make a 3 hr drive. I rolled in just before midnight and couldn't be happier to get out of my truck!
So - stay away from Chinese Freeways!!! They SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
(To hell with Spell check - I blog in the RAW!!!)
